Privacy Policy
VisionSpeech is private by construction. Your speech is transcribed entirely on your Apple Vision Pro, and the result stays there. We do not run servers that see your data, we have no accounts, and we collect no analytics.
The short version
What the app does with your speech
When you record, audio is captured by the microphone and held in memory only for as long as it takes to transcribe it. Transcription runs on the headset itself using NVIDIA Parakeet v3 (via the FluidAudio on-device speech engine). The audio is never written to disk and never leaves your device. Once a recording is transcribed, the audio is discarded.
The finished transcript is automatically copied to your device clipboard so you can paste it into another app. What you do with it after that is up to you and governed by the apps and system you paste it into.
What is stored on your device
VisionSpeech keeps a local history of your most recent transcripts (up to 100) so you can revisit, edit, or copy them again. This history is stored only on your Apple Vision Pro, in the app's own storage. It is not synced to us or to any third party. You can delete any item, or clear the entire history, from within the app at any time. Deleting the app removes it.
The one-time model download
The first time you set up VisionSpeech, the app downloads the speech model (about 500 MB) so transcription can run offline thereafter. This download is fetched from the model host (FluidAudio / Hugging Face). As with any download, the host can see standard network request information such as your IP address; we do not control or receive that information, and it is not tied to any account or identity within VisionSpeech. After the model is installed, the app works with the network turned off, and no further requests are made.
Permissions we ask for
- Microphone — required to record the speech you want transcribed. Audio is used only for on-device transcription, as described above.
We do not request contacts, location, photos, or any other personal data.
Data we collect and share
None. VisionSpeech contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect personal data, we do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell or share. There are no third-party services that receive your data through the app. The app's privacy practices are also declared in its App Store privacy details and in the bundled privacy manifest.
Children's privacy
VisionSpeech is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app collects no data, any change will be about clarity rather than new data practices.
